The main ovens used to low bake paint are of Garmat Manufacture. They are high quality units fully controlled by computer panels. The paint mixing room is also Garmat for complete colour matching, air exchange is very fast for drying waterbase paints. Our RM paint is 90% water based. All colour chips are hand painted in France and we find the matching of colours very much better than some other manufacturers. We have been using RM paints since 1994 and we were the first to trial the water based paints and its computerised system in the U.K. Painters' training is carried out at RM's training centre in Didcot and refresher courses are generally in house and the training of any new products is given by RM personnel. The dust extraction model has recently been replaced in the paintshop for maximum air quality, all paintshop tools have dust extraction, and infrared dryers are used for quick curing of primers. Our Paintshop Foreman is Peter Wooster who has vast experience in vehicle refinishing, colour matching etc. |

All equipment is studied before purchase at Thatcham Research Centre in Berkshire. Our main body jig was installed in 1998 with full Thatcham approval. Global rotak 5 mtrs with twin pulling units can be set up to accommodate almost all models of cars and light commercials. Welding equipment installed is Elektron Multispot Ml-100 for inverter (water-cooled) spot welding. This is computer chip coded for specialist repairs to suit all types of metal including Boron Steel. A Prima Inverter Spot 85R is also used for all the latest steels. Aluminium welding is carried out by using our new Fronius Welding System. This unit also allows us to Mig Braze various manufacturers vehicles to warranty standards in this changing time of vehicle manufacture and repair. Each panel bay has its own ARO Mig Welding Unit and all Panels Beaters use individual dust extraction units when sanding operations are carried out. It is easy to see that we have invested heavily in panel and chassis repairing equipment and it is a fully justified expenditure when you see the high quality of repairs carried out on the premises. |
